2018 Fall Evening Class - Joshua: Inheriting the Promised Land
Aug 27, 2018
The book of Joshua tells a marvelous story of how the LORD God keeps His word to His people. In fact, not one word “fell to the ground” in terms of God’s promises to His people about giving them the Promised Land of Canaan (Joshua 21:43-45). But this book provokes negative reactions among many people today. The reason? The LORD God authorizes the elimination of the Canaanites, thus prompting some to claim that God endorses genocide. What then is the story told in Joshua? How shall we read it today?
