FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mid-America Reformed Seminary Granted Ten-Year Reaccreditation by ATS
Dyer, Indiana – June 10, 2025 — Mid-America Reformed Seminary (MARS) is pleased to announce that the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) has reaffirmed its accreditation for the maximum term of ten years, extending through March 31, 2035. This decision was made by the ATS Board of Commissioners at its winter meeting in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on February 3-4, 2025.
The Board highlighted several strengths of the Seminary, including its clear mission to prepare pastors grounded in the Reformed faith, its strong financial stewardship, which minimizes student debt, a nurturing community environment, and a culture of intentional, real-world ministry preparation.
Commenting on the reaccreditation, Dr. Alan Strange, President of Mid-America Reformed Seminary, stated:
“We are delighted with the results of our reaccreditation process with ATS. We were given a ten-year reaccreditation (until 31 March 2035), which is the longest time period ATS gives. The ATS found us to be strong in our historic strengths; what they noted as needing focus on our part, we had already specifically identified as meriting attention. We cannot imagine a better result, and we are so grateful to our gracious God for all that He has enabled us to do in our service to the churches and to Him. We look forward to many more years of kingdom service and are grateful for this encouragement by ATS to press on.”
As part of the reaccreditation process, MARS remains committed to ongoing improvement and faithful service to the church and the Kingdom of Christ. The Seminary will submit a follow-up report by November 1, 2026, outlining its strategic planning and institutional evaluation efforts.
