Mid-America Reformed Seminary announces the appointment of Rev. Paul Ipema as Assistant Professor of Ministerial Studies.
Dyer, IN — Rev. Paul Ipema accepted an appointment from the Board of Trustees as Assistant Professor of Ministerial Studies at Mid-America, where he will commence teaching on January 25, 2023, the beginning of the Spring semester. Rev. Ipema will be the primary instructor for the Pastoral Care and Counseling course. He will also teach a two-hour class on Liturgics or Public Worship, as well as a junior-level Applied Sermon course.
"I am delighted that Rev. Paul Ipema has accepted the Board's appointment to the position of Assistant Professor of Ministerial Studies," said Dr. Cornelis Venema, President of the seminary. "As an alumnus of Mid-America Reformed Seminary, Rev. Ipema is intimately acquainted with our emphasis upon a close integration between the study of theology and the formation of our students for the pastoral ministry. Perhaps more importantly, he comes to the seminary after serving three congregations, one a church plant, and more recently, as an instructor for the Divine Hope Reformed Bible Seminary. We anticipate that Rev. Ipema's teaching in the Ministerial Studies division will focus primarily on preaching, pastoral care and counseling, and discipleship."
Rev. Ipema commented, "I thank God for the privilege to be a blessing in the same seminary that has been such a blessing to me. My fervent prayer is that Christ would enable me to use my years of pastoral experience to equip a future generation of pastor servants who will bring back the strayed, bind up the injured, and strengthen the weak."
Founded in 1981, Mid-America Reformed Seminary serves Christ and His church by assisting in the formation and preparation of servants for the Kingdom of God. Wholeheartedly committed to the biblical Gospel, the infallibility of the Word of God, and the biblical riches of the Reformed confessions, its primary purpose is to train men for the gospel ministry of Jesus Christ. Mid-America Reformed Seminary also provides solid theological training for others among God's people whose life callings may be enhanced by theological education.
