Romans 1:21 tells us that the creation of God teaches some basic “theology.” Humanity’s response is supposed to honor God as God and to be thankful to Him. Being thankful is not a vague feeling of well-being; a person is thankful to someone (or something). For the Christian, our hearts and eyes are open to see God’s amazing goodness in creation, but we also receive as a gift salvation, life, and fellowship with God through Jesus Christ. We don’t earn it; we receive it by faith.
